Sony has officially announced a new smartphone for Japan under the Xperia series named Sony Xperia UL. As of now, the device will only be available in Japan. The Sony Xperia UL is quiet similar to the Sony Xperia Z when it comes to hardware and performance.

The Sony Xperia UL is definitely an impressive smartphone and is very similar to the Sony Xperia Z. So consumers in Japan who do not want to opt for the Sony Xperia Z have another smartphone to look out for. The Sony Xperia UL has a 5-inch touchscreen display with a 1080p resolution. The device is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor and has 2 GB of RAM. Initial rumors said that this device would have the new Snapdragon 600 processor, but it has now been confirmed that the device is powered by the Snapdragon S4 processor.

The Sony Xperia UL also has the Exmor RS 13MP camera sensor, that offers you the ability to capture 15 frames in a second. So along with the processing unit, even the camera on this device resembles the one present on the Sony Xperia Z. The front facing camera is a VGA camera. The device also has 16G of internal storage, microSD card support and has a 2300 mAh battery.
Even when it comes to looks, the Sony Xperia UL is very similar to the Xperia A available on NTT DoCoMo. The Sony Xperia UL will be available in three colors namely black, white and pink. The device will be available from the 25th of May and will be offered by AU by KDDI.

The device weighs about 145 grams and its dimensions are 135 x 71 x 10.5 mm. Other important features include Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, LTE and infrared sensor. One of the best things about the Sony Xperia UL is that even this device is dust proof and water resistant just like the Sony Xperia Z.
