HTC One A9 ‘Aero’ looks like an iPhone running Android debuting in October

Images of HTC’s rumored smartphone codenamed ‘Aero’ aka One A9 have now been leaked online. These leaked images showcase the handset in different color variants and gives us a better idea about its design, which surprisingly looks like the latest-gen iPhones given the Taiwanese manufacturer’s reputation who is rather known for pushing the boundaries of smartphone design.

Credible leaker @evleaks has posted an image on his Twitter account, which shows the smartphone sporting six color variants namely Opal Silver, Deep Garnet, Carbon Gray, Cast Iron, Acid Gold and Rose Gold, notably the same color variant introduced by Apple for its current gen iPhone models.

As already mentioned, the leaked images show the smartphone bearing a striking resemblance to the latest iPhones, with bold curved, though the primary camera unit at the back has been housed in the center, unlike the latest iPhones that have it on the top right. While the front panel also reveals a physical button at the bottom that might be used as a makeshift fingerprint sensor.

As far as specs are concerned, @evleaks suggest that the device will get a 5-inch Full HD AMOLED display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable storage along with a 2150mAh battery. In terms of optics, the device is expected to get a 13MP rear camera along with a 4-UltraPixel front facing camera with OIS and BSI sensors. In addition, it is expected to sport a metal body with a thickness measuring 7 mm.

Meanwhile, the company will be holding an event scheduled for September 29 in Hanoke, Japan. HTC would be launching a ‘dual flagship’ as per the invitation, which could the above mentioned HTC One A9 along with HTC Butterfly 3. The latter is believed to be an international version of the HTC J Butterfly (HTV31), launched in Japan this May. The Android 5.0 powered smartphone sports a 5.2-inch QHD Super LCD 3 display, Snapdragon 810 SoC bundled with 3GB of RAM along with 32GB of expandable storage. Juicing up the device is a 2700mAh battery while optics include a 20.2MP primary cam and a 13MP front-facing camera.
