Apple has begun sending out official invites to its March 21 event which carries the tagline ‘Let us loop you in’. The event is widely expected to yield the new 4-inch iPhone SE, new 9.7-inch iPad incorporating ‘Pro’ features along with new colorful Apple Watch bands.
However, there is some speculation as to what Apple might mean as it aims to loop the media in on the specified day though it’s believed to be largely symbolical and points to nothing too significant except perhaps referring to the 1, Infinite Loop campus in Cupertino, California where the event has been scheduled.
The main focus of the event though will undoubtedly be on the new smaller iPhone SE with a 4-inch display. The SE is expected to share almost the same looks as the iPhone 5s but with a smaller form factor. Another distinguishing factor of the SE could be its all metal build along with curved edge design similar to the latest iPhone 6 range.
Alleged iPhone SE LeaksHowever, the alleged iPhone SE is touted to come with spruced up internals which includes integration of A9 chip along with support for NFC and Apple Pay. In addition, the SE will have better camera capabilities as well compared to the iPhone 5s and could eventually replace the 5s as the new entry-level iPhone model though that is mere speculation at the moment.
Another star attraction of the event will, of course, be the new 9.7-inch iPad. However, contrary to the widespread perception that it is iPad Air 3 that is coming our way, word on the street is that the iPad version might be merged into the iPad Pro line-up.
With that, the new smaller iPad Pro is said to benefit from several enhancements drawn from the iPad Pro. These include improvements to the display to support Apple Pencil, integration of a four speaker design and a Smart Connector to hook accessories. Then there will be support for the smart touch-type cover as well along with the beefier A9X processor making up the core of the new smaller iPad Pro.
Lastly, Apple is believed to introduce new colorful bands for its Apple Watch models as well.
The new iPhone SE and iPad Pro is likely to reach markets shortly after their launch at the March 21 event.
Also, there could be mention of the new Mac range that is getting shape at the Apple camp during the event next week. Apple is in the process of revamping its MacBook lineup, incorporating the latest processors Intel has come up with.
