The 2016 edition of Moto G, Moto G Plus Or Moto X rumored to launch on June 9

It’s been some time that we have had the present crop of Moto devices – a year or so though that again is ages in the present times which again make it not so surprising about reports of Lenovo all set to launch a new Moto handset on June 9.

However, what remains a mystery is the exact model that is set to be unveiled on that day. Both the next-gen Moto G and Moto X has been kicking off quite a bit of storm off late though conspicuously missing from all such action is the entry level Moto E. Even though all three will be due for replacement this summer, the fact that just one handset will be unveiled on June 9 has led to some wild speculation as to which of the three will get to see the light of day eventually.

As for the likely specs, not much is known about the Moto G4 except that there will be two versions of it this time. The vanilla Moto G4 will be smaller and will likely feature a 5-inch display while there is going to be a Moto G Plus this time that will be slotted higher and will feature a bigger display as well.

Another standout feature of the Moto G Plus will be its incorporation of a fingerprint scanner embedded within a physical home button that would sit just beneath the front display.

It should prove to be handy in warding off competition from the recent crop of Chinese budget smartphones such as the Honor or the LeEco that feature a fingerprint scanner among other bits.

Famous tipster @svleaks also had an image purported to be that of the Moto G4 to share recently.

Moto G3 has been hugely popular and let’s just hope the legacy continues with the new Moto G4 as well.

As for the Moto X, details have been equally scanty though there has been a leaked shot of it as well that showed off a handset with the Moto logo sitting at the top left corner while a fingerprint scanner enabled physical home button placed beneath the display.

Other bits and pieces that we know of the Moto X at the moment are that it will feature a 5-inch display, a USB Type-C connector along with a front facing flash.

The latter should be indicative of a ramped up front camera to allow for better selfie shots.
