Huawei launches Honor 5C phone and Honor T1 7.0 tablet

As anticipated since a week prior to this date, Huawei’s subsidiary company Honor has officially pushed a budget-friendly Honor 5C, a successor to Honor 4C in the Indian market for INR 10,999. The brand Honor is known for aiming budget and mid-range segment, and the latest entrant from the company is no different. Honor also debuted in the tablet category with Honor T1 7.0 at INR 6,999.

Initially, the Dual SIM Honor 5C was announced back in April this year and released a month after in China. Since then, the phone was much-awaited to arrive in India.

Honor 5C sports a 5.2-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen display with 1080 x 1920 pixels full HD resolution, 424 ppi pixel density and support for multitouch. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow-based company’s Emotion UI 4.1 and supports fingerprint, accelerometer, proximity, and compass sensors.

Honor 5C is powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 650 (Quad-core 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 + Quad-core 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53), 2GB RAM, and Mali-T880MP2 GPU. The phone boasts a 16GB internal storage capacity that is expandable up to 256GB via a microSD card with no dedicated card slot as it uses SIM 2 slot. It packs a non-removable 3000 mAh battery.

Honor 5C has a 13 MP autofocus primary camera along with an LED flash. The camera deals with features such as geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, panorama, and HDR while holding the capability of recording 1080p videos at 30fps. The selfie camera stands at 8 MP resolution with f/2.0 aperture.

Honor debuts in the tablet category with Honor T1 7.0

Honor T1 7.0, on the other hand, features a 1024 x 600 IPS multitouch display. It’s powered by a 1.2 GHz Spreadtrum SC7731G chipset and 1GB RAM. It deals with an internal storage of 8GB, which allows expandability up to 32GB via a dedicated microSD card slot. The tablet comes with a non-removable Li-Ion 4100 mAh battery.

Huawei India’s Allen Wang said: “India is a very significant market for Honor and with these persistent series of innovation, we would like to reiterate our commitment to the Indian consumers and offer upgraded experience with every launch.”

Honor 5C will be available in three colors – gold, silver and gray via flash sales starting June 30. The phone is already on pre-orders at the Honor store and Flipkart. Honor T1 7.0 is now available on Flipkart via an open sale.
