Until now, Prisma app was available only for iOS platform (except a few days when the app was open for beta testing on Android). However, gone are the days when Android users had to rely particularly on sideloading to test Prisma’s impressive modern art filters. Putting an end to all funny business, Prisma Labs, Inc. that is a maker of the app, has finally rolled it out officially for Android users on Google Play Store.
The app does the job of transforming photos into artworks with the help of the styles of famous artists: Munk, Picasso in addition to world’s great ornaments and patterns. The foundation on which the app runs is based out of a combination of neural networks and AI (artificial intelligence) that allows transforming pictures into art paintings.
Interestingly enough, there is literally nothing that Prisma for Android cannot do as compared to its iOS counterpart. The Android app works great with all functionalities that exist on iOS. Users get to play around 30 filters that make the ultimate transformation of pictures possible. But honestly, the end results are sometimes pretty terrible, and there is nothing we can do about it.
As of writing this, Prisma for Android has been downloaded 7,564 times. The app carries a size of 7MB and requires Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and up. The app requires permission to access device’s identity, contacts, photos/media/files, storage, and camera, etc.
