Apple has started rolling out iOS 10.2 update, which comes with a whole lot of new features. It has been under beta tests since Oct. 31, the same day when iOS 10.1.1 was launched. The update also comes with several bug fixes that were present in the earlier iOS iteration. Along with iOS 10.2, tvOS 10.1 is released too. Apple has made it hassle-free to resume shows and check out recommendations from one place.
Let’s have a look at what are the new features that iOS 10.2 comes with.
New emojis:
The latest iOS 10.2 version marks the introduction of the Unicode 9.0 emoji standard. That translates to the addition of no less than 100 new emojis. Those include a male firefighter as well as a female judge. Then there are new ways to represent other aspects such as food, animals, sports and so on. Check out all the emoji.
SOS:
There is a new SOS feature with the latest iOS update that will let you call for help during emergency situations. This gets invoked when the home button is pressed five times though you can always turn it off if not desired.

Camera:
The update now provides the option to save the last used camera settings using the new ‘Preserve Settings’ feature. Live Photos too benefits from better stabilization while the frame rate is also faster.
Wallpapers:
There are three new wallpapers that are now available for use on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The new wallpapers include Droplet Blue, Droplet Red and Droplet Yellow.

Full-Screen Effects:
Background effects happen to be one of the most visually appealing update to be introduced to iMessage. That has just been bolstered with two new effects namely ‘Celebrate’ and ‘Send with Love’.
New music controls:
The Shuffle and Repeat buttons are now easily accessible as you just have to swipe up from the bottom of the screen while in the Music app.

Overall, the new iOS 10.2 update is something that should enhance your experience with Apple’s mobile devices. One should have at least iPhone 5, 4th generation iPad, or the 6th generation iPod Touch to make the most of the latest update.
Video app:
The new Video app that works on both Apple TV and iOS devices provides for a nice way to come across new videos iTunes or other streaming apps. Unfortunately, the app isn’t compatible with Netflix just yet while the update seems relevant for users in the US only as of now.
