Whether or not releasing a new beta version of iOS 10.2.1 is the right way to celebrate a decade of the iPhone can be a matter of debate though the fact is, Apple chose to relive the moment that way.
Having a build code of 14D23, this also happens to be the third beta of iOS 10.2.1 and one that comes with only minor improvements and bug fixes. So those hoping to see the introduction of exciting new features to mark a decade of the existence of the iconic iPhone are in for a disappointment. It has been just about a month that Apple had launched the beta 2 of iOS 10.2.1.
As is the usual procedure, it is only registered Apple developers or those whose iPhone devices have been set up for developer beta testing that can download the latest iOS beta. Apple usually sticks to launching a new iOS version during its developer’s conference held in June every year.
Meanwhile, Apple also released beta versions of several of its other operating systems such as the watchOS and tvOS. So those into developing Apple Watch apps can download the latest watchOS 3.1.3 beta using the Apple Watch app on compatible iPhone devices. The Apple Watch is also required to be close to the iPhone for the download to be successful.
It has only been three weeks that Apple had launched watchOS 3.1.3 beta 1 and now the second beta is already released. Also, similar to the new iOS beta, the latest watchOS 3.1.3 beta 2 is also expected to be a minor improvement over beta 1 and is likely to come sans any major feature addition. Instead, it is just a few bug fixes that might be released.
Users of Apple TV too are in for luck given that a new beta of tvOS 10.1.1 has just been released as well. However, similar to the other beta releases, there is nothing comprehensive that the newest update is expected to introduce, except for the usual bug fixes and performance enhancement features.
