LG has taken the wraps off its newest flagship offering, the LG V30, and the device is as alluring as it can get. Unfortunately, there isn’t much that we don’t know of the device already, though it is always nice to get the details from official sources.
So what we have in the form of LG V30 is another stab at the high-end smartphone segment. It can be seen as a further refinement of the design theme that first made its debut with the LG G6, which means an ever diminishing bezel along the top and bottom while the same along the sides are already almost non-existent.
The display again has an aspect ratio of 18:9 and is all of the 6-inches, with an eye-popping QHD+ resolution, which means 2880 x 1440 pixels. There are no secondary displays though, as was the case with all previous iterations in the ‘V’ series.
The rest of the specifications again are quite similar to the other flagships. That includes Snapdragon 835 processor mated to a 4 GB RAM along with the option of either 64 or 128 GB of storage. Powering the device will be a 3,300 mAh battery while running the entire show will be Android 7.1.2 Nougat.
However, while those might sound familiar, the one aspect where LG sought to differentiate the V30 is its audio capabilities. The South Korean manufacturer claimed the LG V30 is compliant with Master Quality Authenticated (MQA) technology and is the only smartphone in the world to be so.
Put in simple terms, the MQA technology allows for packing of original studio master into smaller files. This allows for ease of streaming of the high-resolution audio without depreciation in quality. What that means is that every sound bit ranging from the smallest shrills to the thumping drums, all would be played back with easy finesse. The LG V30 is also Hi-Fi Quad DAC compliant, a feature that allows for 32-bit audio playback.
Then there also is the dual camera at the rear comprising of a 16-megapixel and 13-megapixel sensor, the latter being of the wide-angle type. The primary lens again is of f/1.9 aperture. The camera also boasts of the usual advanced features such optical image stabilization, laser auto-focus, phase detection auto-focus. A front mounted 5-megapixel sensor allows for selfie shots.

LG, however, is yet to reveal how much the LG V30 is going to costs. It is going to be available from September 21 in South Korea, followed by a debut in other regions such as North America, Europe, Africa, Middle-East and other parts of Asia. Guess pricing structure would be released closer to the launch schedule. Stay tuned.
