The Apple iPhone launch date is drawing closer, and the pre-launch rumors too are gathering pace with each passing day.
And the latest we have here is the purported name of the iPhone versions complete with the prices as well, credit for which goes to a China-based carrier whose marketing documents carrying the said info is already making the rounds of the social circles in that country.
So, from what is evident, the base level iPhone is going to be named the iPhone XC and will set one back $699. That refers to the 6.1-inch version of the iPhone, one that will have an LCD panel to allow for a lower cost upfront.

- This phone is unlocked and compatible with any carrier of choice on GSM and CDMA networks (e.g. AT&T, T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon, US Cellular, Cricket, Metro, Tracfone, Mint Mobile, etc.).

In any case, the iPhone XC nomenclature does make sense given that the phone itself is being provided an iPhone X-like makeover. That includes a notch at the top along with zero bezels all round, a design trend that first popularized with the anniversary iPhone X launched last year. That should be enough for the base iPhone model to also be included in the iPhone X family with all resembling a similar getup.
Among its more illustrious brethren’s include the iPhone XS and the larger iPhone XS Max each sporting a 5.8- and 6.5-inch display respectively. Prices for the two models have been speculated to be $900 and $1000 respectively, which again owes it to the OLED panels that both the phones will come with. All prices are in Chinese Yuan and have been rounded off in US dollars as per current market rates.
