The Nubia Red Magic has finally reached Indian shores, making for an excellent option for a powerful gaming phone but at a more affordable price range. The Red Magic is all set to invade the Indian market starting Dec. 20 with Amazon being the exclusive retail partner.
Priced at INR 29,999, the Nubia Red comes with specs and features expected of a gaming-oriented phone. That includes a Snapdragon 835 chipset mated to an 8 GB RAM along with 128 GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The front is made of up a 5.99-inch FHD+ display that is lit up by 1080 X 2160 pixels making for a stunning pixel density of 403 ppi.
Keeping the lights on is a 3800 mAh battery which however can be a bit disappointing considering that gaming drains the battery the most. That together with the pixel-rich display can really be taxing on the battery though fortunately, there is support for fast charging technology. These apart, the phone also comes with a 24 mp single lens rear camera of f/1.7 aperture. The front benefits from a 8 mp camera of f/2.0 aperture.
Extreme processing as is evident in gaming phones is also about a lot of heat that gets generated. Thankfully, there is an elaborate mechanism to deal with that as well in the form of what the company prefers to call as Space Age Cooling tech. That involves several layers of graphite while there also is a trio of cooling ports along with other supporting feature for quick dissipation of heat.
Meanwhile, there also is a Game Boost feature as well which essentially happens to be a special software feature designed to boost gaming performance. That include faster load times while also an overall improvement in their performance as well though the feature is applicable to 128 games at the moment. The mode also disables incoming calls or other notifications to ensure zero distraction when playing games. Otherwise, the phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo.
Amazon plans to launch eight new Alexa powered smart gadgets soon
Meanwhile, all the high-end specs apart, a unique aspect of the new Nubia Red Magic is an RGB LED strip featuring 16.8-million colors. Needless to say, the RGB strip adds a distinctive character to the phone.
