OnePlus confirms the OnePlus 7 Pro will have has triple lens rear cam

OnePlus has just confirmed their upcoming flagship offering, the OnePlus 7 Pro will come with a triple lens rear camera. The revelation has come in the form of a 10-sec short video clip that the company tweeted via its official account.

The tweet just had the message ‘Bells and whistles make noise. We make phones.’ That said, the video also depicted the image of a phone in the background that had three cameras at the rear. No points for guessing, it’s the OnePlus 7 Pro that is being referred to here.

Also, the three lenses are shown stacked in a vertical column arranged along the middle of the phone. The company logo is placed right below it, which makes one wonder where the flash is going to be positioned. Maybe it’s going to be placed in the gap between the camera stack and the company logo.

There are no surprises with the design too given that there already are scores of phones having a similar layout. Even the OnePlus 6T also had the same basic rear design, with the only difference been that the OP 6T came with a dual camera system. In contrast, the OP 7 Pro is all set to be the first from the company to have triple rear cameras.

In any case, that is also something that has always been speculated all along. In fact, rumor also has it that the primary camera at the rear is going to be of 48 mp resolution and f/1.5 aperture, besides being OIS and EIS compliant. The camera will be supported by an 8 mp f/2.4 aperture telephoto lens offering 3x zoom along with a 16 mp f/2.2 aperture wide-angle lens offering a 117-degree field of view.

The latter again is expected to serve as the selfie camera as well, having the same characteristics. That includes 16 mp resolution along with f/2.2 aperture and 117-degree wide field of view shooting angle.

Meanwhile, in what seems to be fast becoming the industry trend, companies don’t seem to be secretive anymore with their forthcoming launches, revealing many details that otherwise reach the Internet anyway. OnePlus too has been largely doing something similar, making several aspects of the OnePlus 7 known even before the launch date. Maybe the launch event henceforth will largely be watched for knowing the pricing details only.
