While iPhone fans might be hooked on to the September 10 schedule in anticipation of the new iPhone 11 series, there sure are more reasons to look forward to the special date. The new Apple Watch Series 5 which recent leaks have suggested will come in ceramic and titanium finishes are surely one such reason.
Interestingly, the leak has its source in the watchOS 6 Beta which carries references of the start-up displays the watch will have and has mentions of 44mm Ceramic and Titanium case on either of the leaked images. This would mark a return of ceramic as a case material which used to be available with Apple Watch Series 2 and Series 4 but wasn’t so with the Apple Watch Series 4. It’s good to see that is happening with the Apple Watch Series 5.
As for titanium, this would make for a completely new design approach given that there has been no Apple Watch ever made using the material. This again makes one to believe the new Titanium versions likely to be available in the premium models. The other Apple product that has mention of the rare metal is the new Apple Card had launched earlier.
Meanwhile, while the leak may have mention of the new ceramic and titanium cases to be applicable to only 44mm models, the same is expected to be available for the smaller 40mm Apple Watch Series 5 versions as well. Further, we have had a leak on this earlier as well, with Ming Chi Kuo too having predicted the return of the ceramic options earlier this year itself.
As for the new features that have come to be associated with the upcoming Apple Watch Series 5, experts claim Apple’s focus on health and fitness will continue unabated with the new Series 5 watch as well. That likely will include the ability to keep a tab on blood pressure and glucose levels along with sleep tracking. Women’s health will also feature prominently in the new Apple Watch Series 5.
Among the other features rumored to be part of the Apple Watch Series 5 package include an under-screen fingerprint sensor. That if true will make for an interesting development considering Apple’s adoption of Face ID and rejection of Touch ID on its iPhone devices.
Plus, the new Apple Watch Series 5 is also expected to have an improved battery life as well as an Always On Display for better user convenience. There likely will be smart straps as well, as is an OLED panel and maybe even a circular watch face too.
Fortunately, we won’t have to wait for long to come across the real stuff considering the speculative launch date is just weeks away.
