Apple might be launching its video streaming service – Apple TV+ as early as this November itself. Though Apple is yet to officially acknowledge any launch window there also are unconfirmed reports of the company planning to price its streaming services at $9.99 a month.
The Cupertino company, however, will have just five shows to offer right away, which includes ‘The Morning Show’ featuring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon; ‘See’ featuring Jason Momoa of Aquaman fame; ‘Truth Be Told’ featuring actress Octavia Spencer; and the ‘Amazing Stories’ by Steven Spielberg. Then there is also going to be a documentary series by the name ‘Home’ that will showcase extravagant and uber-luxury houses.
There surely is likely to be a free trial period before those interested in the Apple service are asked to subscribe. That’s the usual industry norm and Apple Music itself has a free trial period of three months while Apple Arcade – the company’s game subscription service offers a free trial of one month. That should make one believe the Apple TV+ will be available for trial for at least a month.
Unfortunately, Apple’s offering pales off in comparison to what the competition has to offer. For instance, Disney+ has a more comprehensive lineup of shows, films and originals to offer, including the hugely popular Star Wars series or Marvel content and other Disney films.
Netflix too has a lot more to offer for the same basic monthly tier of $9.99 and is reported to have earmarked more than $14 billion in new releases this year. Disney has an even bigger budget of $24 billion for spending on new releases this year. In comparison, Apple just has projects worth a meagre $1 billion in the pipeline.
Apple still has an ambitious $50 billion revenue target from the streaming business which it intends to reach by 2020. That will include contributions from other services such as Apple Music that already has millions of subscribers and contributes well to the Apple coffers.

Some even believe Apple might have a bundle offer as well, one that will include all of its services such as Apple Music, Apple News, Apple Arcade, iCloud Storage and so on. This would serve as a single-window to all Apple streaming services that users can have a single subscription for.
