Microsoft has released a new version of Skype app for Apple devices, but there is nothing new for iOS 7. The user interface still retains the original design.
Since yesterday evening, iOS 7 is available for download. Almost all the software houses have immediately released updates to their app with changes in the UI. However, Skype 4.12, a newer version of app for iPhone and iPad preserves the original look but introduces a new feature and several quality improvement.
The new version of Skype for iOS now allows users to participate in a group video call, in progress. The company said that it was the one of the most requested features by those who posted comments from the iTunes App Store.
In addition to classic improvements in terms of speed and resolution of bugs, Skype has improved the quality of voice and video calls, the dial pad and accessibility. Now, the FAQs will be accessible within the app directly.
Skype 4.12 is compatible with iOS 5 or higher but has nothing new specifically for iOS 7 except a small bug. The app doesn’t run automatically until the user unlocks the device using the access code after rebooting the device running iOS 7. So we may expect a minor release soon as well.
