Sprint has announced the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. The update will offer an expandable & more functional notification panel

Sprint has announced the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1. The Wi-Fi variant of the tab received this update back in January, thereby delivering a refreshed experience to its users. This time the similar services are expected to move on the platform of the 4G LTE variant of Galaxy Tab 2 10.1.

This new update brings some improvements and features like Project Butter, which offer the users, a variety of graphical capabilities to use their tab exclusively.

The smooth transitions over the revamped & responsive user interface enable easy movement between the home screens & apps, thus delivering great experiences to the owners of the tab.

Alongside Jelly Bean, the owners of the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 will get standard improvements to apps such as Google Now, which can be easily accessed by launching the Google app from the app tray. This app now delivers the right info to users when desired at the right time.

This new update will also offer an expandable and more functional notification panel enabling users to handle functions like return calls, send email, and view pictures, etc. directly from the corresponding notification itself.

With the update, the widgets automatically get resized on the home page, to make wise use of the screen and thus decently fit new widgets on it.

Apart from these new enhancements, the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 users should note one thing that once they update their tab & jump to Android 4.1.1, then they can likely lose the tab’s screenshot shortcut (to take a screenshot just press & hold the power button and volume down on the tab simultaneously) functionality.

The update is sent out OTA and distributed gradually to the Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 owners. There are possibilities that users might not be able to update their tab to Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean right away. Don’t worry, the update notification will be pushed automatically to Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 users during the next few weeks. Once the update is downloaded on your tab, then simply you have to install it. The installation process will take few minutes, which will disable your device
in the meantime, but afterwards you can go ahead to experience the improvements on your refreshed tab.
