Several leaks and renders indicate a dual edged display to feature within Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Note flagship, similar to that of the Galaxy S7 Edge.
While we are not sure whether the device will be named Note 7 or Note 6, the latter might seem to be the most obvious choice given that its Note 5 represents the current iteration. However, some claim Samsung might opt for Note 7 which again rhymes well with its current Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge flagships.
Naming aside, the other aspects of the upcoming Galaxy Note that are worth mentioning are the inclusion of the USB-C port, a first to be seen on any Samsung device so far. The USB-C port that is missing in the S7 Edge allows faster data transfer and quick charge. The upcoming Note also includes a 3.5mm headphone jack as well as the S Pen at the bottom, the latter being the hallmark of the Note range of devices since its inception.
While Samsung is reportedly in its advanced stages with the firmware for its upcoming Note, the device is expected to launch around early August. Last year’s Note 5 and S6 Edge+ were also released around the same period.
The latest leak by Shai Mizrachi reveals the upcoming Note measures at 153mm x 74.5mm x 7.8mm. The figures mark an improvement over the 153.2mm x 76.1mm on the Note 5. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note might feature a 5.7-inch or 5.8-inch display.
It might continue with the home button at the front, also a fingerprint sensor. However, additional sensors at the front have led many to believe there could be an iris scanner included rumoured. If it comes true, users will have an added option for unlocking their future Note by simply looking at the device.
Meanwhile, there is also the video from uSwitch that explores the upcoming Note from all angles, providing with the clearest depiction of the phablet so far.
