Long rumored the Samsung Galaxy A9 has now been spotted in a series of leaked promotional images suggesting that the device may be nearing its official launch date. In addition, the same source who leaked these promotional images said that the device will be launched early next year and will be priced around CNY 3000, which translates to more than $470.

The Galaxy A9 is essentially a follow up to the second generation Galaxy A series smartphones unveiled earlier this month such as the Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5 along with Galaxy A7. Though the Galaxy A9 is marketed as the largest sibling of all, as the handset is expected to feature a 6-inch Full HD Super AMOLED screen. The latest leaked images also suggest the A9 will pack a 13MP rear camera along with an 8MP camera on the front.

Powering the device will be a Snapdragon 620 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8Ghz bundled with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. While connectivity options include GPS, NFC, FM radio, Micro-USB 2.0, Wi-Fi and 4G LTE support.

Other highlights of the Galaxy A9 would be its massive 4000mAh battery, with the handset reportedly also spotted with reverse charging support in one of the promotional images. While the device is expected to run Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, though it will be updated to Marshmallow within one month after the launch. In addition, the leaked image also claims that the Galaxy A9 will get Samsung Pay support along with a fingerprint scanner.

In other related news, the Korean manufacturer is also prepping the launch of its next flagship with the Galaxy S7. Surprisingly, the company is expected to slash the pricing of its next flagship, as much as by 10 percent compared to the current Galaxy S6. While the Galaxy S7’s chipset also broke previous Antutu benchmark scores bagging a massive 103,692 points.
