Google may launch Android 7.0 Nougat as soon as Friday, August 5

If several reports are to be believed, the search giant Google might release its latest Android 7.0 Nougat as soon as this Friday. Yes, 5th August! As hinted by a well-known tipster Evan Blass, aka @evleaks, Android 7.0 Nougat is not too far away. According to Blass’ tweet, which reads “Android 7.0 releases next month, with the 8/5 security patch. Sorry Nexus 5 owners, no Nougat for you,” this time, however, Google may end up making Nougat available as early as August, contrary to October or November as far as the company’s tradition is concerned.

However, an early (predicted) release won’t necessarily turn out to be good news as it might take long for users to get started with all its bells and whistles, thanks to the delay that occurs during the Android upgrade procedure.

It’s fairly common that once Google makes its newest Android available, smartphone manufacturer’s one of the initial imperative duties include testing the software, figuring out compatibility issues and solving those (if any) on all its devices, before beginning implementations of final rollout procedures.

Hence, it is as obvious as, despite Google releasing it a month early or so, Android users have to wait before they could finally get their hands on the latest open-sourced operating system experience powered by none other than Google and of course, Android.

Coming back to what Evan Blass had to say in his tweet – “Sorry Nexus 5 owners, no Nougat for you,” which implies that the Android 7.0 Nougat will not include support Nexus 5. However, it doses not come much as a surprise. After all, Android N Developer Previews do not incorporate support for the Nexus 5 either. Current Nexus lineup includes LG Nexus 5X and Huawei Nexus 6P, sold by Google.

HTC had reiterated its commitment to rolling out the latest Nougat update for its frontline devices – One M9, One A9, and HTC 10 – soon.
