The new Samsung Galaxy M series is official now, with the company having launched the Galaxy M10 and Galaxy M20 smartphones in India. In fact, its India connection isn’t stopping at not just being the launch country for the phone, the new M series is also designed and manufactured entirely in the country.
Amazon India has already been announced as the official and exclusive retail partner while the retailer too has set up a page dedicated solely to the Samsung devices. Prices mentioned is Rs. 7,990 for the base M10 comprising of 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage. Next up is the model with 3 GB of memory and 32 GB of storage and is priced Rs. 8,990.
The Galaxy M20 will also include two models with the base version offering 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of memory and is priced Rs. 10,990. The top end model comes with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage and is priced Rs. 12,990.
As for specifications, the M10 comes with a 6.2-inch Infinity V HD+ display. That refers to a dew drop notch at the top with the rest of the front made up of the display. Powering the phone is an octa-core Exynos 7870 SoC built as per the 14nm manufacturing process. The phone, however, runs Android Oreo and not the latest Android 9.0 Pie.
Keeping the lights on is a 3400 mAh battery which should allow for decent run times. Coming to its optics, the M10 features a dual camera setup at the rear comprising of a 13 mp primary camera of f/1.9 aperture and a 5 mp ultra-wide camera of f/2.2 aperture. There also is a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner as well as is a face unlock feature.
The M20 comes with a 6.3-inch Infinity V Display. Bigger pixel rich displays require more power and the new M20 comes with a 5000mAh battery which Samsung said is enough for 28 hours of video watching experience. Samsung is also claiming 3X faster charging as well for the M20.
For optics, the M20 comes with a dual rear cam setup comprising of a 13 mp primary camera and a 5 mp ultra wide lens camera. The primary lens has a focal length of f1.9 while the same for the secondary camera happens to be f2.2. Also, of course, there are the usual pre-defined settings like Live Focus that makes the surroundings to blur out in a portrait shot. The front also gets a 8 mp camera with selfie focus as well as an in-display flash.
Powering the M20 is a 14nm Exynos 7904 octa-core processor coupled to either a 3 GB or 4 GB LPDDR4 RAM. The two versions get 32 and 64 GB storage respectively. Pre-installed with Android Oreo, the M20 will also come with a new user interface named Samsung Experience 9.5.

Another USP of the M10 and M20 is that they come with Widevine L1 certification, which coupled to the 360 degrees Dolby Atmos surround sound makes the phone a true entertainment powerhouse. Color options include Ocean Blue and Charcoal Black for both the M10 and M20.
