The rumor mill has been churning for weeks, anticipating a late October Apple event showcasing a slew of new Macs powered by the M4 chip. But with the surprise launch of a new iPad mini featuring Apple Intelligence, the question now hangs in the air: will there even be an October event?
Apple, known for its meticulously orchestrated product launches, typically holds events in the fall to unveil new Macs and iPads. This year, the expectation was for an event focused on the M4 chip, potentially powering refreshed versions of the MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac. However, the sudden release of the iPad mini has thrown a wrench into the works.
Because the iPad mini was expected to be a key part of this rumored October showcase. With its launch already out of the way, the potential lineup for an event seems significantly thinner. Could this mean Apple is shifting gears, opting for staggered releases instead of a grand event?
