The new generation Apple AirPods 2 was recently spotted at the Bluetooth Special Interests Group certification site which is a clear indication of it launching sometime soon though no firm launch dates are available as yet.
Also, unlike its predecessor, the new AirPods 2 won’t just be a wireless headset unit. Rather, it’s known to be integrated with a host of wellness features which should enable it to pick up key health parameters and act accordingly. Needless to say, there would be warning bells ringing if anything is found exceeding the permissible limit. That said, exactly which health parameters the new AirPods 2 would be watching over are a mystery as of now.
These apart, the certification site also revealed the new AirPods 2 will feature advanced noise cancellation tech as well, besides being compliant with Bluetooth 5.0 standard too. The site also mentioned two models numbers – A2031 and A2032 for the AirPods 2. However, it is not known if that points to two different versions of the headset or if each unit of the headset is identified by a separate model number.
The usually reliable supply chain analysts and Apple watcher, Ming Ch Kuo also added the new AirPods 2 would come with hands-free Siri feature. This should enable the user to seek the services of the Apple virtual assistant by simply speaking to the headset without requiring to turn the iPhone on. That apart, the AirPods 2 might be water resistant as well, which again should be another huge advantage for outdoor usage given that the iPhone range already comes with water resistant feature.
Apple first 5G iPhone expected only in 2020 with Intel chips
Apple had two highly successful back-to-back events last month and the month before that. It launched the new MacBook along with the new generation iPhone and iPad devices though another anticipated product, the next-gen AirPods were missing. While it is now known the reason for that, it’s not known for sure when the AirPods 2 are going to be launched. However, what is almost a surety is that those likely will be launched before the onset of the holidays.
