There is growing evidence the upcoming Note 8 will have a dual lens camera at the rear. While this has already been rumored, now the Korean news site, Newsis too is claiming the same.
Samsung’s current flagship, the Galaxy S8 have a dual pixel primary camera but features a single lens. While that does not make the camera any less capable – the S8 has in fact been greatly appreciated for its images – a dual lens camera is expected to take things to the next level.
Unfortunately, no other details are available as yet regarding the Note 8 camera. So it is not known if Samsung will go for a normal lens and tele-photo lens combo or would have a monochrome shooter accompanying the regular lens, as the recently launched Essential phone comes with.
Meanwhile, another detail that has emerged is that the Note 8 will have the same 18.5:9 aspect ratio as that of the S8 or S8+. Samsung insider that chose not to be identified has claimed the information.
Further, the Note 8 is also touted to have its fingerprint sensor placed beneath the front display. The technology was expected to be included in the S8 as well but eventually got rejected as it was still been under development when the current flagship got launched.
Interestingly, the placement of the fingerprint sensor happens to be one of the biggest grouses with the otherwise excellent S8 phone. With it being placed just adjacent to the rear cam, it often is mistaken for the other, leading to inadvertently fudging of the camera lens unless you get used to it.
Another similarity that the Note 8 is expected to share with the S8 is the overall design. The S8 with its infinity display marked by non-existent bezels along the sides and thin strips of it along the top and bottom has been an instant hit in the tech world.
The upcoming Note 8 too is likely to have the same design theme, something that has been corroborated by the few design leaks that we have of the device so far. The display will just be 0.1-inch larger than the S8+.
As for its launch window, things obviously haven’t been set in stone yet but are likely to arrive around fall but earlier than the iPhone 8. That is something that we really got to watch out for phone
