Samsung today launched the Galaxy M30 in India, which forms the most advanced of three phones that forms part of the newly launched M series of phones in the country. That said, the new M30 shares the same basic design language as its other stablemates in the M series – M10 and M20 – but has the largest display together with a sophisticated camera system as well as a large 5,000 mAh battery.
The 6.4-inch Infinity U Display with its sAMOLED FHD+ resolution is truly a sight to behold given how it stretches right up to the edges, save for the thin chin at the bottom and a tiny water-drop notch at the top. Bigger pixel rich displays require more power as well. And as already stated, the M30 is equipped par for the course with a 5000mAh battery that Samsung says also recharges 3X faster with the 15W charger accompanying the handset.
Also, powering the device is Samsung’s newest 14nm octa-core Exynos 7904 processor coupled to either a 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM. Also, the choice of native storage ranges from 64 GB for the base model with 4 gigs of RAM to 128 for the top of the line version with 6 GB of memory. However, both the models come with a dedicated memory card slot with a max capacity of 512 GB.
For its triple lens rear optics, the M30 comes with a 13 mp F1.9 primary camera, 5 mp ultra-wide lens for wide angle shots along with a 5 mp live focus sensor which Samsung said will enable the phone to capture the subject and the surroundings separately. Then there also is the 16 mp front facing cam as well with Live Focus for the perfect selfie shots. The rear is also where the fingerprint sensor is accommodated though there is the face detection system as well for added security.
The phone will be running Android Pie right out of the box and comes with twin VoLTE ready SIM card slots. Adding to the phone’s entertainment appeal is the Widevine L1 certification that it comes with. That together with the stunning edge-to-edge display and Dolby ATMOS speaker does makes the new M30 a powerhouse of an entertainment device. The M30 also boasts of a 0.409/KG of SAR value at the head which Samsung claims to be among the lowest radiation emitting out of mainstream smartphones currently available.
As for its price, the base M30 has been priced Rs. 14,990 while the top model will set one back Rs. 17,990. Both the models are going to be available exclusively via Amazon.in, as has been the case with the M10 or M20 devices. Sale starts March 7 from 12 PM onwards. Choice of colors include Gradation Blue and Gradation Black.
