OnePlus 7 renders reveal a pop-up selfie cam and a bezel-less display

With the much-awaited Samsung Galaxy S10 already having been launched, the focus now has shifted to OnePlus and how the company’s upcoming flagship, the OnePlus 7 is going to be like. And there is quite some food for thought as well, what with a render of the phone getting leaked recently.

If all that is being depicted in the render is indeed true, OnePlus will be pulling off a Vivo V15 Pro with its new OnePlus 7 device. That refers to the incorporation of a pop-up selfie camera feature, which in turn will means no space needed to be earmarked for the placement of the selfie cam. In other words, there is not going to be a notch or any sort of disruption in the display of that sort to host the front cam. Instead, it is the pop-up cam that would do the trick.

Also, the immediate benefit of having a pop-up selfie cam is that the display is going to stretch all the way to the edges. That way, the OnePlus 7 is expected to come with a screen-to-body ratio of a staggering 95 percent. This would make for a significant improvement over the OnePlus 6T that has a screen-to-body ratio of 85.6 percent.

Interestingly, the present render contradicts an earlier one where the phone was believed to sport a sliding design, with the bottom part housing the front camera module.

Among the other significant change to expect with the new OnePlus 7 is the addition of an extra camera at the rear. This would make the OnePlus 7 to be the first from the company to feature a triple lens rear camera. The OnePlus 6T already came to be lauded for its camera, and things are expected to improve even more with the upcoming flagship phone.

These apart, the OnePlus 7 is expected to come with a 6.5-inch Full HD+ display. Further, the chances are that the phone will not be 5G enabled even though it almost surely will have the SD 855 chipset at its core. The phone might also not have the wireless charging feature as well. As for its base configuration, there likely will be 6 gigs of RAM along with a 4150 mAh battery. A top-end model featuring 10 or even 12 gigs of memory can’t be ruled out as well.

No points for guessing the phone will be running Android 9 Pie right out of the box, the specific Android version that is currently in vogue. Among the other specs current being associated with the OnePlus 7 include a USB Type-C port, a bottom firing speaker and so on. The phone is expected to be launched by the middle of the year, which means there is going to be a few more rounds of leaks and speculation expected to come our way.
