The OnePlus 6T is all set for launch in India on October 17, going by an official teaser that the company had released to add to the hype. Interestingly, there is not much that we don’t already know of the phone, which again seems to be a clever ploy on part of the manufacturers themselves who too have chipped in with bits of info about the phone.
To begin with the common aspects, the OnePlus 6T is touted to share some internal traits with its immediate predecessor, the OnePlus 6. And that includes a Snapdragon 845 heart along with options of 6 and 8 gigs of RAM and 64, 128 or 256 GB of storage. Then there is going to be the Adreno 630 GPU as well to take care of graphics-rich files.

Up front, the phone is believed to have a 6.4-inch 2340 x 1080 pixel AMOLED screen having a screen-to-body ratio of 91.6 percent. However, the most striking aspect here will no doubt be the tear-drop notch at the top. That is not all as the other, and potentially the biggest USP of the OnePlus 6T is going to be its in-screen fingerprint sensor, making it the first from the company to feature the technology. Company officials however also stated there will be the face unlock mechanism as well to complement the in-screen fingerprint sensor.
Another new aspect with the OnePlus 6T is the headphone jack which has been given the boot. Company officials justified the move claiming that the majority of its users have moved on to using wireless headphones, which sort of makes the 3.5mm port redundant.
The OnePlus 6T is also going to make history in being the first handset from the Chinese manufacturer to go on sale in the US via a physical retail location. This has been achieved thanks to a partnership with T-Mobile that would also offer a version of the phone optimized for use on its network.
Meanwhile, leaked renders of the phone have revealed a simpler rear layout with only the dual camera setup along with the company logo right beneath it. Gone is the fingerprint sensor with the rest of the rear panel remaining clean and uncluttered. As for its pricing, that remains firmly shrouded in mystery.
However, we do have a reference point here in that the OnePlus 6 went on sale for $529. At least, the OnePlus 6T won’t be priced cheaper than that though there are every chance of it being pried higher than that.
